Mwynhewch weithgareddau antur a fydd yn rhoi hwb i'r adrenalin yng nghanolfan chwaraeon dŵr newydd Porthcawl, gwerth £1.5 miliwn, sydd o'r radd flaenaf.

 

Ydych chi'n fyw am gael syrffio, neu a fyddai'n well gennych chi archwilio'r ardal gyfagos ar feic? Efallai y byddwch am fynd am dro ar hyd y traeth tywodlyd gyda diod boeth yn eich llaw. Mae canolfan chwaraeon dŵr newydd sbon Rest Bay bellach ar agor ac yn barod i'ch helpu i brofi cyrchfan antur glan y môr y DU sy'n tyfu gyflymaf.

Mae arbenigwyr lleol Ysgol Syrffio Porthcawl yn falch o allu galw'r ganolfan yn gartref parhaol iddynt, gan alluogi pobl frwdfrydig i gael cyfle i brofi'r dyfroedd gwyllt gyda gwersi ac offer i'w llogi bob dydd o'r flwyddyn (ac eithrio Dydd Nadolig).
 
Os nad yw syrffio at eich dant - peidiwch â phoeni! Mae gan y ganolfan chwaraeon dŵr lwyth o declynnau gwahanol sy'n addas i weithgareddau ar y môr, gan gynnwys offer padlfyrddio ar eich traed.
 
Os byddai'n well gennych antur amgen, dewiswch eich olwynion ac ewch ati i fwynhau gyda mwy na 30 o gerbydau i ddewis ohonynt, gan gynnwys beiciau mynydd, beiciau teiars tew, e-feiciau, criwserau Califfornia a chadair olwyn i'w defnyddio ar y traeth. Wynebwch her twyni tywod Cynffig gyda'r 'beiciau teiars tew', sydd ag olwynion trwchus tu hwnt. Dysgwch am dirweddau chwedlonol y twyni tywod gyda theithiau yn seiliedig ar chwedlau'r ardal.
 
Rhowch gynnig ar helpu byd natur drwy lanhau'r traethau ar y cyd â'r gymuned a chael gwersi addysg amgylcheddol i wella ymwybyddiaeth yr hen a'r ifanc o'r môr a'r awyr agored.
 
Os nad yw beiciau cyflymder uchel neu anturiaethau yn y dŵr yn mynd â'ch bryd, bydd caffi'r ganolfan yn cynnig diodydd poeth a danteithion melys cyn hir er mwyn eich cynhesu a'ch rhoi ar ben ffordd i fwynhau taith gerdded hamddenol ledled y traeth tywodlyd.

Ride the Welsh waves with Porthcawl's new £1.5m water sports centre 

Make a splash with adrenaline spiking adventure activities at Porthcawl's newly unveiled state-of-the-art £1.5m water sports centre. 

Are you a budding surfing sensation, or would you rather explore the surrounding area by bike? Maybe you simply want to walk across the sandy beach with a warming hot drink in hand; Rest Bay's brand new water sports centre is now open and ready to help you experience the UK's fastest-growing seaside adventure destination. 


  • Local experts Porthcawl Surf School are able to call the new centre their permanent home, enabling keen sea-goers the chance to ride the wild waters with lessons and equipment hire every day of the year (excluding Christmas Day). 


  • If surfing isn't your style - don't worry! The watersports centre is stocked full of sea-faring kit such including stand up paddleboards. 


  • If you would rather an alternate adventure, choose your wheels and set out on the fleet of over thirty vehicles including mountain bikes, fat bikes, e-bikes, California cruisers and a beach wheelchair. Take on the usually tough sands of the Kenfig dunes with the extra-thick tired 'fat bikes'. Learn about the mythical lands of the sands with tours based on the legends of the area. 


  • Give back to nature with collaborative community beach cleans and environmental education courses to maximise ocean and outdoor literacy for both the old and the young. 


  • If high-speed bike rides or aquatic adventures aren't your speed, the centre's cafe will soon serve warming hot drinks and sweet treats to fuel you up for a peaceful walk across the stretching sandy beach.

Nid dim ond yn yr haf gallwn ni fwynhau diwrnod ar lan y môr, ewch i fwynhau'r traeth gyda Beach Academy Wales i ddarganfod byd cudd hyll bywyd môr Cymru gyda'i digwyddiad arbennig ar gyfer Calan Gaeaf. Dewch i gwrdd â'r creaduriaid sy'n cnoi, ymladd a phigo sy'n byw o dan y tywod ym Mhorthcawl ar y llwybr rhyngweithiol i'r teulu ar draws Rest Bay.Gall plant ymgysylltu â byd natur trwy ddysgu am y creaduriaid bach iasol sy'n byw yng Nghymru.

Dewch â'ch welis a gwnewch sblash gyda mwy na 300 o erwau i'w darganfod yng Ngwarchodfa Natur Parc Slip yr hanner tymor hwn. O bryfed bach iawn i adar ysglyfaethus, mae Parc Slip yn gartref i amrywiaeth fawr o fywyd gwyllt trwy'r tymhorau. Mae'r ardal ddiogel yn rhoi cyfle i archwilwyr bach ymdrochi ym myd natur. Dihangwch rhag y glaw a gadael i'r plant fownsio a joio ym mharc trampolinau dan do mwyaf Cymru. Bydd eneidiau bach dewr yn cael eu tywys trwy felltith Megan Pritchard, hanes sy'n mynd â chi ar daith sy'n llawn sypreisys arswydus, hiwmor i droi'ch stumog a llawer o droadau dramatig. Profwch eich ofnau a pharatowch ar gyfer yr annisgwyl, ond cofiwch, efallai fod ysbryd Megan yn llercian o hyd...

Wynebwch eich ofnau a mynd am dro iasol ym Mharc Gwledig Bryngarw ar ôl iddi nosi. Cerddwch ar flaenau'ch traed drwy'r parc tawel yn oriau hwyr y nos wrth wrando ar storïau brawychus gan geidwad parc arbenigol. Gwyliwch am gysgodion rhyfedd wrth i chi gael eich tywys drwy'r goedwig droellog a thiroedd tywyll y coetiroedd Cymreig. Gyda theithiau cerdded ar gael i blant a chynulleidfaoedd hŷn fel ei gilydd, dewch i fwynhau noson llawn hwyl ac arswyd Calan Gaeaf.Cynhelir sesiynau mewn slotiau un awr ar noson 26 Hydref.  Gofynnir i blant iau fynd i'r sesiynau 5-7pm, gyda'r sesiynau 9-10pm i blant 16 oed a throsodd yn unig.Mae'r digwyddiad yn costio £8 y person.

Best October Half Term Activities ...

Half-term doesn't have to mean endless hours stuck inside the house. From seeking out the creepy marine creatures beneath the sands of Rest Bay to jumping the day away at Wales' biggest trampoline park, get going with wild adventures across Bridgend. 

 

Best for… spooky seaside adventures

Days out at the seaside aren't reserved for the summer months, hit the sands with Beach Academy Wales to uncover the ugly underbelly of Welsh Marine life with their Halloween Special. Meet the biters, fighters and stinger's that live beneath the sands of Porthcawl on the interactive family beach trail across Rest Bay.Children can connect with nature by learning all about the creepy critters who call Wales their home.

Best for… muddy puddles 

Grab your wellies and make a splash with over 300 acres of Parc Slip Nature Reserve to discover this half-term. From tiny bugs to birds of prey, Parc Slip is home to a huge array of wildlife throughout the changing seasons. The safe area provides little explorers with the chance to immerse themselves in nature. Choose from traffic-free, family-friendly cycle tracks or wander along over 10k of pedestrian paths. Little ones can learn about the rich variety of flora and fauna before heading into the reserve at the interactive Discovery Room equipped with exhibitions, videos, nature table and more. www.welshwildlife.org/visitor-centres


Best for… escaping the rain 

Escape the rain and let children bounce away excess energy in Wales' biggest indoor trampoline park. Featuring over 100 interconnected trampolines, Jump Jam is the perfect spot to avoid winter weather without sacrificing fun. Bounce through a huge area of trampolines, against angled walls, over tumble tracks or take on activities ranging from parkour and wall-running to dodgeball and even a battle beam foam pit! Bounce alone or join forces in family jump sessions, ranging from 3-6 people where you can show off your skills together or compete to see who is the best in the family. Best for… spooky surprises 

Prepare for an evening of gruesome ghost tours and spooky surprises at Porthcawl's Grand Pavillion on the scariest night of the year. Brave young souls will be guided through the curse of Megan Pritchard, a tale which takes you on a journey brimming with shocking surprises, stomach-churning humour and dramatic twists and turns. Test your fears and prepare for the unexpected, but beware, Megan's spirit might still be lurking…

Best for… stepping back in time 

Spend half-term immersed in Welsh history with a trip around Bridgend County's three Norman Castles: Coity, Ogmore and Newcastle. Young historians with love exploring the crumbling ruins of these enchanted sites; Hop across the stepping stones of Ogmore River to reach the fairy-tale castle, skip through the striking stone doorway of Newcastle or climb across the impressive grounds of Coity. Dating back to as early as the 11th and 12th centuries, each castle ruins offer individuality and adventure. Jump across the 33 stepping stones across the child-friendly shallows of the Ewenny River, alternatively enjoy an autumnal picnic within the sheltered grassy greens of the fallen walls Coity. Whilst at Newcastle, why not stop off at St John's House Open day, located minutes from the medieval site, stop by to step inside the Grade II listed building and learn a little about its long history. Best for… adrenaline-fulled adventures 

Head to Bridgend's hottest adventure hub, Rest Bay's new state-of-the-art water sports centre, where families can find adrenaline sparking activities whatever the weather.

Why not switch riding the waves for scaling the dunes this half term? Stay on dry-land with a variety of bikes available such as the specially designed 'fatbikes'. Adventurers can explore a range of coastal terrain, tackling the troughs and peaks of Europe's second-highest sand dunes with ease. Choose from either an hour or a half-day guided tour to learn about the local wildlife and history. Brave for… facing your fears

Face your fears and brave the spooktacular walk through Bryngarw Country Park after dark. Tiptoe through the silent park in the late hours of the night whilst being told scary stories by an expert local ranger. Keep your eyes out for strange shadows as you are escorted through the twisting trees and darkened terrains of the Welsh woodlands. With walks available for both children and older audiences, spend the evening embracing the Halloween season in spine-chilling style. Sessions will be held in hour slots in the evening of the 26th October, younger children are advised to attend the 5-7 pm sessions, with 9-10 pm session being reserved for those aged 16 and above exclusively. The event costs £8 per person.
