Pitch for Funding

Visitor Events support

Bridgend County has developed a reputation for innovative and 'quirky' visitor events - a key feature of the destination's brand.  We need to find ways of keeping our events fresh and interesting as well as supporting new ones to happen.

The Bridgend County Visitor Events Strategy, 2014-2017, sets a clear vision for visitor events:  for Bridgend County to be recognised as a successful and dynamic events destination.

From time to time, funds may become available to support events - either existing or new - that best demonstrate their ability to:

  • increase economic impact
  • be 'on brand'
  • enhance the profile of the area
  • create vibrancy throughout the year
  • improve the quality of life for residents

Information on support opportunities will be made available on this site as and when it is available. Decisions will be made by a panel of Bridgend County Borough Council officers, with advice sought from the County Events Safety Advisory Group.  Decisions will be based on:

  • Creativity of the proposal
  • Monitoring arrangements
  • Skills and experience of the those involved
  • Value for money
