Day 19 of the 'Elvis ADVENTure' competition

Glamping Elvis
There's less than a week left until Christmas and Elvis is (unsurprisingly) getting a bit tired after all his activities so he’s off to spend the night in a Mongolian Yurt at Cwm Tawel. He certainly needs his rest as he's still got a lot o' livin' to do before Christmas Day gets here!

Elvis ADVENTure day 16: Kenfig National Nature Reserve

DSC_0604
Today Elvis is off to Kenfig National Nature Reserve to do some wildlife spotting and to take a stroll along one of Europe's largest areas of sand dunes. He might not quite be able to spot a Snowbird but you never know what unique Welsh wildlife might come along.
Kenfig Nature Reserve has an interesting information centre next to the entrance and there are also some very interesting trails that go right into the heart of the reserve.

A spotlight on: Great House, Laleston

The Grade-II listed Great House originates from around 1550, is thought to have been a gift from HRH Queen Elizabeth the 1st to the Earl of Leicester and now offers one of Bridgend's very best overnight stays. Here's a little more information about The Great House, Laleston that you may or may not know…

1. The hotel was thought to have once been a gift from HRH Queen Elizabeth the 1st to the Earl of Leicester, who then went about using it as his own private hunting lodge!

2. There are twelve rooms on offer altogether, each of which has been designed to offer its own character, from single four poster beds to kingsize sleigh beds.

3. So many of the original features that date back to the 15th century are still on display today - flagstone floors, oak beams, inglenook fireplaces and stone archways to name but a few.

4. The Great House, Laleston boasts its own spa complete with highly trained male and female therapists. Facilities include a jacuzzi and sauna.

6. The Great House Hotel is one of South Wales' top wedding venues. There's a bespoke wedding service so you can make sure your day goes exactly how you want it to.

7. Do you enjoy a good Afternoon Tea? The Great House's afternoon tea menu includes homemade finger sandwiches, delicious scones and champagne!

8. This is also the ideal location for a business meeting, with three conference rooms catering for 2-50 delegates and a great restaurant for a post-meeting dinner.
