The Big Bang Firework Display

Screen Shot 2013-11-05 at 10.31.29Remember, remember the fifth of November... Celebrate the day that nearly marked the end of the Houses of Parliament as we know them with a fantastic firework display at the Hi Tide Inn, Porthcawl.

The weather may be on the turn, but nothing brings people out of their houses and into the cold autumn air like the colourful explosions of Bonfire Night.

Tonight is no different, if you head down to the Hi Tide Inn in Porthcawl tonight at around 7/7.30pm, you'll be rewarded with a fantastic fireworks display, not to mention some fantastic views out over Coney Beach and the Glamorgan Heritage Coast.

The firework display will start at about 7pm - 7.30pm and is free to enter.

There’s so much going on but here are the top 5 highlights you’d be crazy to miss:1. Beach Flags (Town Beach, Saturday afternoon)
Beach flags is a sporting event used by surf lifesavers to practice beach sprinting and reflexes for training or competitions. This event will keep the audience on their toes as the participants sprint as fast as they can across the sand, organised by Hugh Murray the champion beach flagger himself from Porthcawl Surf School.

3. Fantastic live Music (Town Centre, Friday night and Saturday day)
Bridgend will come alive with music in various venues across town such as the Cosy Corner Stage and The Green Room at the Grand Pavilion with loads of great local bands and singers. Why not have a listen to The Side Effects, Jade Bird or Tom Bedlam. After all that the Surfer’s Ball kicks off at 9pm in the Grand Pavilion with a scary movie theme - just in time for Halloween!
4. Night Surf (Town Beach, Friday and Saturday 8pm)
The whole beach will be lit up with digital projections on buildings, as well and light shows and music all coming together to form a spectacular show.
5. Catching the Wave
Working with local artists, film makes, photographers and students the Arts Council of Wales are putting together a creative programme to showcase at the festival. Everyone’s itching with anticipation to see what they’ve come up with!
